At Blue Sky Grant Services, we believe that funding can fuel transformation. Our mission is rooted in a simple but powerful idea: everyone deserves the opportunity to gain autonomy, self-sufficiency, and purpose.
Founded by an Air Force veteran, educator, and seasoned nonprofit leader, Blue Sky Grant Services offers more than just grant writing—we offer strategic partnership. With over $11 million in successful grant awards and o ver 60 grants actively managed, we bring the experience, systems, and heart required to help your organization thrive.

Baz Nixon = Founder | Independent Grant Services Consultant | U.S. Air Force Major (Ret.)
After serving 21 years as a field-grade logistics and contracting officer in the U.S. Air Force, I transitioned into the nonprofit sector to continue serving others—this time through mission-driven grant work.
Over the past 4 years, I’ve:
Developed over 360 grant proposals totaling $25M, securing over $11M in funding
Managed over 60 grants and completed almost 100 grant reports
Led organizational development, strategy, and financial systems for emerging nonprofits
Built teams, mentored staff, and created trauma-informed support programs
Whether it’s writing compelling proposals, creating funding strategies, or building strong operational systems, I bring a solutions-oriented mindset, deep government and nonprofit knowledge, and a commitment to equity and justice to every partnership.
